We're excited, please come and join us on our journey, and experience the building of our solar passive home by Green Homes Australia.
We all need a healthy home. All her life, Helen has been
sensitive to chemicals and smells, so living in a healthy home was very important,
but not easy to achieve. Then during 2009, Lachie had a serious health scare
which finally helped us decide to build a really healthy home we would both
love to live in.
Our healthy green home has solar technologies which have been used for years overseas and are now available in Australia, including a heat recovery ventilation system and Earth Tubes.
Turning the first sod
After months of planning we were finally at the stage where
the work could begin; it was Helen’s birthday, 24th September 2010, the perfect day to arrange
a little ceremony with our builder, Mick Fabar. This was fun and also very
important as it marked the exact day when our home started.
